♥ METHOD:
The Color Peaks Beanie is worked from the bottom up, in the round.
You begin with a folded 1x1 ribbed brim, then continue with the main beanie section.
You can knit a plain one color version or add the Color Peaks colorwork motif in Fair Isle style, worked either from a chart or from written instructions. The colorwork uses simple repeats and is suitable for adventurous beginners.
The crown is shaped with 4 evenly spaced decrease lines to create a well balanced top.

♥ SIZES:
XS (junior) - S (teenager) - M (adult regular) - L (adult large)

This beanie is designed with a small amount of ease at the crown, leaving about 2-4 cm / 1-1.5 in of extra fabric above the top of the head. If you prefer a closer fit, you can reduce the length in the brim or at the crown.

♥ YARN
Designed for worsted weight yarn, approx. 100 m (109 yards) per 50 g.

I used soft, non-itchy yarns that feel comfortable on the forehead
Malabrigo Rios, Drops Merino Extra Fine, Concept by Katia Merino 100%, Sandnes Garn Double Sunday.

For the 3 or more colors beanie you will need:
Color A (main color):
65 (XS) - 70 (S) - 75 (M) - 85 (L) grams or
140 (XS) - 150 (S) - 165 (M) - 180 (L) yards.

Color B:
10 (XS) - 15 (S) - 15 (M) - 15 (L) grams or
20 (XS) - 25 (S) - 25 (M) - 25 (L) yards.

Additional colors: approx. 5 g each or 10 yards.

♥ NEEDLES:
- For the ribbing and stockinette section: 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles, 40 cm / 16 in
- For the colorwork motif: 4 mm (US 6) circular needles, 40 cm / 16 in
- For the crown with decreases: 3.5 mm (US 4) DPNs or the Magic Loop method.

♥ Gauge is 22 sts x 32 rows in stockinette stitch = 10 cm (4 in) with 3.5 mm (US 4) needles after blocking.
