Would you like to test knit my new summer top?

Would you like to test knit my new summer top?

I have a brand-new design, and I’d love your help fine-tuning it before it’s ready for the world. The Summer Soul Top is my latest collaboration with Hobbii, featuring garter stitch for a beautifully textured and effortless knit.

If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, I’d love to have you on board! You can head straight to Ravelry (registration is free and easy), or check out this short overview first.

Key details:

  • Level: Beginner – I designed this to be a perfect first top.
  • Test knit deadline: March 23rd (with flexibility for larger sizes).
  • Yarn: DK weight (Check the label: approx. 115-125 m per 50g, recommended needle size 4 mm (US 6), gauge 20-22 sts). I've chosen Hobbii's Friends Cotton Silk in Black (124) —but feel free to use any yarn that meets the gauge.
  • Gauge: 20 sts × 33 rows = 10 × 10 cm (4 × 4 inches) in garter stitch, knit on 4 mm (US 6) needles after blocking.
  • Construction: Top-down, seamless, with a lovely boat neck.

Two knitting options:

  1. Seamless in the round: Work it in one piece, alternating knit and purl rounds—no seaming required.
  2. Knit front and back separately: If you’d rather skip purling (like I do!), you can knit the front and back separately, then seam the sides. I’ll share a video to walk you through it.

🎁 A little perk for testers!

Hobbii is offering my test knitters an extra 10% off + free shipping on Friends Cotton Silk! Since it’s already 49% off, this is an amazing chance to grab it with even more savings.

If you’ve never test knitted before—you’re welcome here!

Test knitting is just like knitting any other project, but with me + a group of knitters by your side. You’ll get the pattern for free, work through it at your own pace, and can ask any questions along the way.

You help me by noting any mistakes, typos, unclear instructions etc. It’s a fun, low-pressure way to try something new!

How to participate:

  1. Visit the Ravelry thread (CLOSED) for the Summer Soul Top (registration is free and easy).
  2. Leave a comment with the size you'd like to test.
  3. I'll send you the PDF pattern link and other details via DM.
  4. We’ll have a chat group (CLOSED) on Ravelry so we can knit along together.

I know committing to a test knit might feel like a big step, but I'm here to support you every stitch of the way. Your participation and feedback will be invaluable!

See you on Ravelry? 😊

Warm regards,
