The Vivien Top was the last piece to wrap up the summer collection as something light and joyful to celebrate these golden August days. N ow it’s time to slow down, reset… and knit just for the joy of it.
Behind the scenes, a new autumn project is already taking shape. I’ve started knitting the very first sample of the Mellow Mood Cardigan. It’s inspired by the original sweater, featuring the same stylish 2x2 rib raglan lines that flow down the sides. This version includes a built-in button band, which means no folding, sewing, or picking up stitches — a small detail that makes it extra beginner-friendly.
This is my eighth time (!) knitting something from the Mellow Mood family (five sweaters and three tops so far), and it’s still just as enjoyable as ever. I haven’t even finished this one, but I’m already looking forward to making two more cardigans — one for the video tutorial and one for Alex.
I’m not planning to write a separate men’s version, but I’ll include a note in the pattern on how to lengthen the sleeves if needed. Keeping things simple, as always.
If all goes well, the test call will be ready in 2-3 weeks. I’d love for you to join me when the time comes.
