Nuance tee is here

Nuance tee is here

I’m happy to introduce the Nuance Tee, a summer top I designed, as always, with beginner knitters in mind.

But this time, we’re not making just another basic tee.

I added a small nuance.

A simple yet stylish mesh detail at the yoke that adds just enough interest, while gently preparing you for your first lace projects.

Why I created the Nuance Tee

I know that beginner knitters do not want to knit only basic garments. They also want to make something that stands out.

Something you can wear, show, and feel proud of… and maybe even make someone say “wow” when they see your top 🙂

So I designed the Nuance Tee to give you that feeling. Even as a beginner, you can knit a basic piece with a standout detail that looks stylish and shows your skill.

Design

This seamless tee is knit from the top down, beginning with a ribbed neckline.

The circular yoke is shaped with 5 increase rounds, and you can choose between two options:

  • The mesh yoke, worked in a decorative net stitch pattern for a lighter, more textured look.
  • Or the basic yoke, worked in stockinette stitch, with optional back neck shaping using German short rows.

After the yoke is complete, the body and sleeves are separated, and the rest of the tee is knit in the round.

Behind the scenes

At first, I wasn’t planning to include a basic version.

The mesh yoke is built a bit differently, so it almost felt like creating two separate patterns, and I wasn’t sure it made sense.

But then I thought about how well circular yokes fit on different body types.

I also knew that not everyone wants to knit mesh right away.
For some of you, this might be your first garment in lighter yarn, and starting with a mesh pattern can be a bit too much.

So I decided to add a basic version as well.

And honestly, I’m so glad I did. It has its own minimal style, and I really love that.

I hope this inspires you to knit something you’ll truly love.

And I’ll see you on YouTube in the full tutorial ♥️
