DK Yarn Guide 2.0. Started as my notes, now it’s yours
Share
Before summer knitting begins in full bloom… And before the Summer Soul Top finds its way into your project basket—I have something special to share with you: the newly refreshed DK Weight Yarn Guide.

This is version 2.0 of the guide I first shared last spring—my personal yarn shelf, now refreshed with new favorites and ready to support your summer projects.
This season, I removed discontinued options, added fresh picks, and made sure each of the 20+ yarns included matches the kind of projects I design for warmer weather: Mellow Mood top, Daydream Zephyr sweater, and yes, the soon-to-be-released Summer Soul top.
Whether your pattern calls specifically for DROPS Belle, Sandnes Garn Line, or any yarn requiring a gauge of 19–21 stitches per 10 cm (4 inches), this guide will help you substitute yarn confidently and easily, without second-guessing yourself.
To make it even more helpful, I've linked relevant Esenotes—so if you're wondering how to substitute wool with plant-based yarns, or how to read labels at your local or online yarn shop, the guide will take you there.

And now, I know you might be thinking—
"Julia, wasn't the Summer Soul tutorial promised for mid-April?"
You’re right. That was the plan. But like most plans, this one met life head-on.
Alex and I are in the middle of moving to a new home. We’ve been searching for a place that fits—not just for living, but for creating. For filming, writing, designing. For building the next chapter of this space I’ve been shaping with you. That kind of move takes time.
But we're almost there. Fingers crossed, we'll be fully settled before May. Once we've unpacked and I've found the perfect new spot to film, I'll capture the final scenes and complete editing. Rest assured, the Summer Soul tutorial remains on track, ready for your early summer knitting projects.
If you have a moment to send good thoughts my way, it would mean so much. ♥️☺️
But let’s balance that with some good news: The Stardust Tee pattern is fully tech-edited and ready for test knitters! Both versions of the tee will be available:

I'll share the test knit invitation in the next Esenote and announce it officially on Ravelry and Instagram in a few days, so keep an eye out.
Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and for continuing this knitting journey with me.
Warm regards,
Julia Piro
